2014 – 2015

Over $8,000 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • $100 to Cerritos College Turkey Trot annual food drive
  • $779.10 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs from the Free Wheelchair Mission, donated to persons in need of mobility (total of 20 wheelchairs were donated through matching program)
  • $4,750 for scholarships to Veteran students attending Cerritos College, in partnership with Soroptimist International of Norwalk 
  • $2,500 for Angel Tree program, for children and families in need during the holidays 
  • $250 for sponsorship of local youth attending the annual Mayor’s Prayer breakfast
  • $2,500 City of Norwalk Food Panty
  • $2,700 Oldtimers Foundation
  • $3,000 Friends of the Norwalk Libraries funded from State of the City Silent Auction proceeds
  • $250 for sponsorship of the City’s Easter Egg Hunt festival 
  • $250 for prizes for the Kids and Cops Annual Golf Tournament
  • $1,000 Relay for Life Team through the American Cancer Society
  • $1,000 to Teen Alliance Program for youth scholarships
  • $4,500 for Youth of the year Scholarships

 

2013- 2014

Over $23,000 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • $100 to Cerritos College Turkey Trot annual food drive’
  • $718 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs (20 were actually donated through matching gift!) from the Free Wheelchair Mission, for persons in need of mobility
  • $3,000 for scholarships to returning Veteran students attending Cerritos College, in partnership with Soroptimist International of Norwalk
  • $1,000 for Angel Tree program, for children and families in need during the holidays
  • $1,000 for the LA County Fire Explorer program for sponsorship of four Norwalk residents attending the upcoming Fire Academy
  • $150 for sponsorship of Sheriff Cadet for explorer academy
  • $100 to Homeless Count homeless outreach survey program
  • $250 for sponsorship of local youth attending the annual Mayor’s Prayer breakfast
  • $200 for Norwalk Public Safety Cadets attending local competition camp
  • $7,500 to Wesley Health Center new dental clinic ($5,000) and City’s food pantry ($2,500), from silent auction proceeds from State of the City
  • $250 for sponsorship of the City’s Easter Egg Hunt festival
  • $250 for gifts and prizes for the City’s Kids and Cops Annual Golf Tournament
  • $1,000 to outgoing Mayor Luigi Vernola, for the City of Norwalk Relay for Life Team through the American Cancer Society
  • $1,000 to Teen Alliance Program for youth scholarships
  • $250 to Congresswoman Linda Sanchez in support of her Student art competition
  • $270 for Community Emergency Preparedness training conference
  • $4,250 for Youth of the year Scholarships
  • $2,352 for purchase of grocery bags for the City’s Social Services food pantry food giving program

 

2012-2013

Over $14,000 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • $1,500 for scholarships to returning Veteran students attending Cerritos College
  • $250 to sponsor local Fire Explorer from Post 21, Fire Station 20, to attend LA County Explorer Academy.
  • $100 to Cerritos College Turkey Trot annual food drive
  • $718 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs (20 were actually donated through matching gift!) from the Free Wheelchair Mission, for persons in need of mobility
  • $500 for Angel Tree program, for children & families in need during the holidays
  • $500 to City’s food pantry in honor of retiring Director
  • $192 for sponsorship of youth table at Norwalk Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
  • $250 to Norwalk Public Safety Cadets for educational trips
  • $5,000 to the FRIENDS OF THE NORWALK LIBRARIES, from State of the City/Auction proceeds, to enhance 2012 summer reading program for kids.
  • $50 to City’s Easter Egg Hunt festival
  • $500 to City of Norwalk Relay for Life team
  • $250 to City’s Annual Kids and Cops Golf Tournament
  • $1,000 to City’s Teen Alliance Scholarship Program
  • $630 for purchase of 10 military service recognition banners
  • $3,000 in scholarships awarded at annual awards banquet!

 

2011 – 2012

Over $11,200 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • $1,500 for scholarships to returning Veteran students attending Cerritos College;
  • $634 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs (20 were actually donated through matching gift!) from the Free Wheelchair Mission, for persons in need of mobility
  • $150 for Cerritos College Turkey Trot program, for prizes for student participants
  • $500 for Angel Tree program, for children & families in need during the holidays
  • $50 for City’s Easter Egg Hunt program
  • $5,000 to Wesley Health Center – Norwalk, from State of the City/auction proceeds, for an eyePacs Picture Archive Communication System, used to screen diabetic patients.
  • $250 to City’s Annual Kids and Cops Golf Tournament
  • $1,000 to City’s Teen Alliance Scholarship program
  • And over $2,200 to be awarded at annual awards banquet in June!

 

2010 – 2011

Over $12,500!

  • $1,750 for the purchase of tables for Senior Citizens Center Multi-Purpose room
  • Over $590 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs (20 were actually donated through matching gift!) from the Free Wheelchair Mission, for persons in need of mobility
  • $500 for Angel Tree program, for children & families in need during the holidays
  • $1,100 to City’s Food Pantry, from proceeds of Snowfest food booth sales
  • $192 for sponsorship of youth table at Norwalk Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
  • $5,000 to the Norwalk Libraries, from State of the City proceeds
  • $250 to City’s Annual Kids and Cops Golf Tournament
  • $1,000 to City’s Teen Alliance Scholarship Program
  • $300 to Veterans Scholarship program, in honor of retired Mayor Stefenhagen

 

2009-2010

Over $15,000 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • $200 to the Norwalk Sheriff Station PRIDE at risk youth program
  • $592 for purchase of 10 wheelchairs from the Free Wheelchair Mission, for persons in 3rd world countries in need of mobility
  • $1,000 to Senior Center for a Christmas tree
  • $250 to Norwalk Public Safety Cadet Program for holiday food basket giveaway program for families in need
  • $192 for sponsorship of youth table at Norwalk Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
  • Over $2,000 for City’s food pantry, from proceeds of Snowfest food booth.
  • $5,000 to the JWCH Health Clinic for children’s immunizations
  • $250 to Chamber of Commerce Lucille Colln Education Assistance award
  • $2,500 for Vietnam wall 24 hour memorial display held in Norwalk, from August 19 through August 22
  • $1,000 for City’s Teen Alliance scholarships
  • $200 to Cerritos College iTRI Triathlon event to raise awareness in health and fitness issues
  • $250 to annual Kids vs. Cops Golf Tournament
  • Over $2,000 in scholarships for high school seniors, awarded at annual banquet!

2008-2009

Over $14,000 donated to the Norwalk Community!

  • Over $500 donation – “Free Wheelchair Mission”, for purchase of 10 wheelchairs for persons in 3rd world countries, in need of mobility
  • $3,500 donation to City’s food pantry, to help feed families and children in need
  • $2,500 for a flooring upgrade project at the City’s Sports Complex Sproul room (in partnership with City of Norwalk)
  • Sponsorship of youth attendees at Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, February 2009
  • Over $500 to Norwalk La Mirada School District for annual student & parent academy for migrant, refugee and GATE students
  • $5,000 to Friends of the Norwalk Libraries, to benefit Norwalk & Alondra libraries
  • $1,000 to Norwalk TAP youth scholarship program
  • Over $1,000 in youth scholarships and award recipient prizes at the annual May awards banquet.
